Poetry and Beer, Packhorse Court, Keswick. A3 pen and watercolour.

I loved all the colourful bunting in Packhorse Court, Keswick, as well as the brooding stormy sky, so I photgraphed the scene, and created this painting, on 300gsm watercolour paper. All I had left to do was add colour to the bunting (the original point of the picture), but I loved the painting so much as it was – with the ghost white bunting and muted colours – that I decided to ‘step away from the painting’ before I spoilt it.
